HOW THE UNIQUE 3D OIL PAINTINGS ARE CREATED

Step 1

First The Background Painting Is Done On A Masonite Panel From The Original Sketch.

Step 3

Then Each Piece Is Carefully Cut Out Using A Scroll Saw. There Is No Room For Mistakes Here.

Step 2

The 3D Pieces Are Drawn On Pretreated Masonite And Are Ready To Cut.

Step 4

Then After The Pieces Are Cut, Each Is Hand Sanded Front And Back To Smooth And Round.

Step 5

After Sanding, The Pieces Are Repainted With Gesso And Sanded A Second Time.

Step 6

Then The Finished Pieces Are Glued And Dimensionally Layered On The Background Painting.

Step 7

Now The Artist Paints And Completes The 3D Pieces. This Is Done Very Carefully So That Paint Does Not Get On The Background Pieces.

Step 8

Finished? Almost. The Artist Custom Frames Each Piece With A Shadow Box Style Frame. These Unique And Colorful Paintings Take More Than A Month To Complete. Markus was The First Artist to Painting In This Style.
